Let's Talk About Sluts

Why do they look like? How do they dress? How do they act? You probably had an image in mind of what a slut was like. They have small clothing, wear a lot of make up, and are snobby. Right? Wrong.

See, we're all victims, as well as suspects, of slut-shaming. We see a girl that doesn't meet our expectations of "normal" and don't like them and immediately accuse them of being a slut. Though it might not be all the time, it might of been just once.

It's not just girls either, guys are also victims/suspects. Gasp. What? You mean that guys are also accused of being sluts? Yep. In our generation, you would think that a majority of the poeple would know this, but they don't. When people say "slut", we all automatically think of a girl, even me. We need to change our mind set on what sluts are. First, let's see the definition. Slut. noun. a woman who has many casual sexual partners. That's the literal definition. Word. For. Word.

Now, let's talk about the ones that do sleep around. Why do they do it? Do they do it because they want the title as "slut"? Most likely not. Do they do it for their own enjoyment? Maybe. Do they do it because they were forced to as a child and it stuck with them? Maybe. Think about that. There is always a reason for peoples actions, even if it doesn't make sense to you.

So, we talked about this. What can we do about it? Can we change the way we talk about it? Yes. Watch this clip, think about it, and discuss it with a friend or adult you trust.
